You are ALMOST ready to move to Thailand!
You’ve done the hard part: your income is solid, your visa is sorted, and you’ve budgeted with clarity.
But moving to Thailand isn’t just about logistics — it’s about building a real life in a new world.
What trips up even the most prepared people?
- Struggling to find community
- Feeling like an outsider in everyday situations
- Dealing with culture shock when the “honeymoon phase” wears off
- Navigating unfamiliar systems from SIM cards to housing deposits to hospitals
- Feeling isolated, even when surrounded by people
That’s the part no one warns you about.
And it’s the part that makes people give up and go home early.
That’s why this ebook exists.
How to Move to Thailand isn’t just about forms and finances – it’s about helping you build a life that lasts.
Inside, you’ll learn:
- How to find and plug into real communities (not just tourist circles)
- How to avoid common expat traps that leave people broke and alone
- What to expect emotionally and how to get through the tough spots
- The systems you need in place to feel stable
- How to set up your move so Thailand doesn’t just feel like a trip, it feels like home
This is the guide we wish we had before we moved.
Don’t just move here. Thrive here.
About Us — Real Expats Living Real Lives in Thailand
I’m Steffi, originally from the UK. I moved to Thailand 9 years ago to teach at a language school, and now I work full-time at an international school in Bangkok, along side travel blogging – one of my passion projects!
Jason’s American, and works remotely under Thailand’s Digital Nomad Visa. He’s dealt with everything from time zone chaos to visa bureaucracy so if you’re coming here as a remote worker, he’s been in your shoes.
Between the two of us, we’ve lived in Phuket, Koh Samui, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok, each place with its own challenges, surprises, and lessons.
We didn’t get everything right. We’ve made a ton of mistakes from culture shock to visa headaches and job issues but we’ve learned a lot, and we’ve built a life here we genuinely love.
Whether you’re thinking about teaching, working remotely, retiring, or just trying something new we’ve probably faced the questions you’re asking right now.
We’re not influencers. We’re just two people who took the leap and figured it out the long way. If we can help you make that leap a little easier, we’re glad you’re here and ready to move to Thailand!
